About

“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”

Ansel Adams

Few basic things about my background:

DSCF3322

  • Born in Romania in 1979, in Targu-Jiu, a rather small town known for also being the birth place of Constantin Brancusi, a modern Romanian sculptor
  • Lived in a communist country until the age of 10, witnessed a live televised revolution (and the murder of a dictator) and survived a long transition period and 25 prime ministers 🙂
  • Graduated sociology and comms
  • Didn’t really travelled outside the country until I was 20 something (with the exception of a trip in post war Serbia when I was in high school)
  • Worked in PR and journalism for over 10 years (7 in Dubai, UAE)
  • Speaks fluently French, can easily follow conversations in Italian, Spanish
  • Married to a Dane (finds it impossible to learn Danish)
  • Lives in Dallas, Texas (for the time being)
  • Loves reading, obsessed with Haruki Murakami and Amelie Nothomb
  • Proud of: interviewing the royal family of Romania, including H.H. King Michael
  • (Re-) Started photography: December 2013, while living in Dubai (I had encounters with photography on several occasions in my life before)
  • Started this blog in August 2014, never thought I’d be so consistent
  • My favorite subjects: I love photographing everything, but I have a particular interest in athletes. I also love photographing nature.
  • Struggling with: staying focused
  • The photo above was taken by my friend Maria A., in Dubai

If you have a thought, question or feedback, I’d love to hear from you. I am on Twitter (@ClaudiaCurici), Instagram (@ClaudiaCurici) and on email (claudia_curici@yahoo.com).

    • Ha, I can see what you mean. 🙂 I used to think is a negative thing to be interested in too many things and not focus something in particular, but Elisabeth Gilbert has something really nice to say about people who are too curious, and I changed my mind :). You can find her speech somewhere on You Tube or a post on her FB page, in case you are curious 🙂
