Flowers, the most beautiful excuse to learn macro

I love flowers, and when I started photography with my DSLR camera (and my 18-140mm lenses) I was naturally attracted to try my camera on taking close ups of flowers (obviously I didn’t know much about lenses). At first I couldn’t understand why my camera would’t focus when I was getting too close to an object – after few attempts, I realised that if I want to do macro, I need a different lens. So it is just over a month ago that I bought a 40mm Nikon lens, and I’ve been trying to practice as much as possible. Dubai has beautiful plants and flowers, even in the summer, the only challenges have been the high humidity and the extreme heat. I managed some shots though. The last two pictures are older ones, taken with my first lens.

PS. There is another challenge though, when you shoot macro of flowers, outside: the wind. Not much we can do about this one…
