Textures, black & white
I have to be honest, I haven’t been taken that many photos lately and I struggled with my creativity and motivation. But I guess this is something that happens to everyone? This is a photo I took in San Antonio last weekend, a photo I ignored until I came across Ansel Adams’ pictures of plants. Sometimes I doubt my choice of subjects (or objects) but there is always something that gets me back on track. I really like how the camera captured the texture of these leaves. Focus could be better, but plants are everywhere, waiting to be photographed 🙂
I’m curious, how do you deal with your creative rut?
I think it’s something you don’t need to deal, just wait when in your mind you feel a “click” Otherwise can help if you use a lesser equipment as, in terms of resolution, a toy camera or, in terms of convenience, a film camera; the idea is recover the fun. In my last travel y relied in a two megapixels camera and in the end it was quite creative, I feel more ideas with my main camera.
Lovely textures, thank you.

Hi Francis, you are right, time usually fixes the issue, but it is consuming while it happens. It makes me doubt myself and that’s not good. I tend to exclusively use my Fuji x100S – pretty simple camera – but I have thought many times of experimenting with film. It also happens, when I have the rut, that I want new gear (you think you’ll do better with a new, better camera) but then I guess I need more to get out and take photos, or take a trip, rather than buy a new camera 🙂 Thank you so much for the feedback and for taking the time to check my blog. Keep in touch.
